CNI News Network brings hundreds of British Pakistanis together at Regent Park Hall to honour a historic milestone.

Birmingham (CNI News) – Hundreds of members of the British Pakistani and wider Asian community gathered in Birmingham on 22 March 2026 to mark Pakistan Resolution Day at a vibrant cultural event organised by CNI News Network Ltd.

The “Pakistan Resolution Day & Cultural Heritage Celebration – Birmingham 2026” took place at Regent Park Hall and drew families, community leaders, and young people from across the Midlands for an evening of remembrance, culture, and unity.

A Day Rooted in History

Pakistan Resolution Day commemorates 23 March 1940, when the All-India Muslim League passed the historic Lahore Resolution — a landmark declaration that laid the political and ideological foundations for the creation of Pakistan. For British Pakistanis, the date carries deep significance, connecting communities in the UK to a defining chapter in South Asian history.

The Birmingham event placed that historical context at its heart, opening with a recitation before moving into a programme that blended civic remembrance with cultural celebration.

Community Turns Out in Force

Regent Park Hall was filled with attendees dressed in vibrant traditional attire, many carrying Pakistani flags and wearing their cultural heritage with visible pride. From young children to senior community members, the gathering reflected the breadth and diversity of Birmingham’s British Pakistani population.

Organisers from CNI News Network described the turnout as a clear sign of the community’s desire to stay connected to its roots. “Events like these are about more than celebrating the past,” one organiser noted. “They are about giving our younger generations a sense of where they come from and what that means for who they are today.”

A Full Programme of Commemoration and Culture

The event’s programme included Quranic recitation, speeches from community figures, traditional music and poetry performances, and presentations on Pakistani history and heritage. Participants in cultural dress added warmth and colour to proceedings, and the stage — decorated with Pakistani flags and banners marking the occasion — provided a striking backdrop throughout.

The evening concluded with closing remarks centred on themes of unity, peace, and continued community collaboration, sending attendees home with a renewed sense of collective identity and purpose.

CNI News Network said it plans to build on the success of this year’s event, with further community programming planned for the months ahead.
