Lahore(CNI NEWS)Ramiz Raja, former PCB chairman, stern on Amir’s return, citing “no forgiveness” for match-fixing involvement. Speaking on a private news channel, Raja expressed unequivocal disapproval, stating that in his view, there’s no room for pardon, even for someone like Amir. Recalling the tumultuous period of the spot-fixing scandal, Raja shared his experience as a commentator during those times, highlighting the backlash faced for being associated with the players involved. Amir, alongside Salman Butt and Mohammad Asif, was banned by the ICC in 2010 for his part in the scandal, serving a custodial sentence as well. Despite his subsequent return to cricket in 2016 and notable performances, Raja’s stance remains firm, reflecting the enduring gravity of match-fixing transgressions in the cricketing world.
