PTI’s Gohar Khan denies receiving any communication regarding dialogue

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan reaffirmed on Tuesday that his party had not received any communication regarding dialogue with the incumbent government. Speaking to journalists outside Adiala Jail, Khan stated that PTI founder Imran Khan had also confirmed that no invitation for talks had been received. He emphasized that if any such invitation were to be received, it would be publicly acknowledged.

Furthermore, Khan categorically rejected the notion of engaging in secret dialogues with the government, emphasizing that PTI would not partake in any clandestine negotiations.

Addressing concerns over the recent by-elections held in 21 national and provincial constituencies, Khan alleged pre-planned manipulation of ballot boxes, particularly in Punjab. He criticized the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for its alleged failure to ensure a level playing field and impartial conduct of the elections. Khan announced plans for peaceful protests on Friday to denounce what he termed as electoral rigging.

Regarding the ongoing cipher case against Imran Khan, Khan expressed dissatisfaction with the proceedings, highlighting alleged bias against Khan’s legal team during the hearing.

The statement comes after the federal government removed the names of several PTI leaders, including Murad Saeed, from the Exit Control List (ECL) upon recommendation by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). Notably, the names removed from the ECL include prominent figures such as Ali Amin Gandapur, Ghulam Sarwar, and Shafqat Mahmood, among others. However, the names of Imran Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi, and other individuals were not removed from the list.
